This shot was taken in the Indian Ocean, about 30 nautical miles west of Perth and Fremantle.
There is no foreground interest for the simple reason there is no foreground. I believe that to be one of the most simple and beautiful aspects of life on the sea. There is nothing around. I mean nothing. Even a desert would have it's hills and little spots of life. Apart from the odd whale or dolphin popping up to say howdy, there is nothing out there.

I was working when I took this shot, so I popped my head into the Operations Room door and told my leading hand, "Back in a minute Beau, if I miss shooting this sunset I'll die". He wasn't happy, but understood my passion for it. So this image is dedicated to Leading Seaman Beaumont. Thanks mate.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
