This wonderful shot, taken on Mindil Beach, Darwin, in August of 2003, was almost never taken, and once taken, resulted in a fight.
Tyson (a mate) and I had wandered down to Mindil Beach for the Annual Beer Can Regatta, and to our disappointment, we'd missed it. The good news (if you can call it that) was that according to the opinions of those present we didn't really miss much at all.
Feeling like we'd wasted our time, we grabbed a Snow Cone each and decided to hang about for sunset.
I had to clamour amongst about six or seven different photographers, and one guy even came and stood directly in front of me!
I asked him politely to "please move sir" but he ignored me. Given as the sun was sinking quicker than the Titanic, I walked up to him and said, "Hey mate, get out the way will you? I'm trying to take a photo."
I was rewarded with my politeness by " F**k off!"
Several punches later, I had him walking off, and I took my shot. It was definitely worth fighting for.
very nice sunset and great contrast with the boat!!

"On and on goes the clock; Unaware of the human desire to control time (as if it'd give a shit!)
All I have to prepare these images is Microsoft Windows Paint. I use it to add a border, or crop an image, and even then it's quite an effort.
So you can believe me when I say that none of my images has been touched in any way at all.
Thanks a lot for your praise, winter2040 and all others, makes me feel gewd...
